Information Security

Information security is one of the fastest-growing careers in the information technology field, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. As computer- and network-based information assumes an increasingly pivotal role in the global economy, “infosec” is becoming a central player in business, industry and homeland security. What sets Champlain’s program apart is its link to a comprehensive suite of IT offerings and its depth of study: Champlain infosec graduates will be able to focus on IT issues from all sides of the spectrum. You’ll be on the leading edge of the field with an Information Security degree from Champlain College.

Champlain’s innovative curriculum allows students to earn an associate’s degree in Computer Networking before earning their bachelor’s degree in Information Security. The goal is to ensure that students are well-grounded in administering and managing servers and networks before they focus on the in-depth study of information security. Information Security students will learn to fend off a range of intruders, from debilitating viruses and Trojan horses to denial-of-service attacks and hackers, and even learn to think like them.
