diversity is increasing but inadequate

magic numbers or quotas
- Want our community
to be an environment of inclusion
- Need to provide
richer opportunities for people
of different viewpoints to interact
- Need for “others”
to become “less foreign;”
we are all “others”
- We will all learn
more by hearing different histories
- More diverse
community may be less comfortable
and our recommendations need to
plan for that potential outcome
