We are truly
entering a Renaissance world -- one
of cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary
possibilities -- where technology, art
and communications work together towards
a common goal, and where the point of
reference changes constantly at the
speed of innovation.
The Emergent Media
Center at Champlain College is intent
on pushing creative technologies beyond
what we know by integrating advanced
technological tools with cultural
awareness, creativity, communication
and a sense of history and place.
These combined skills are paramount
to success in today's global economy
and in every professional field.
In creating a Center
that fosters the professional skills,
entrepreneurial spirit and creativity
of our students, we prepare them to
embark on new beginnings with the
courage to explore, grow and work
together to make the world a richer
place. We give them the opportunity
to define the future of interactive
and immersive mediums and technologies,
and to enter a global world as leaders
in technology, innovation and insight.
Projects
The Emergent Media Center has brought together Champlain students and faculty in collaboration with industry professionals. Students have demonstrated their skills by creating interactive games live, on site at conferences from Boston to Florida to Texas. They have worked on "serious games" and Holiday e-cards.
